Having urged the readers of his first letter to “love each other earnestly from a pure coronary heart,” Peter went on to clarify what such concord would entail. Loving fellowship calls for motion, he taught. Christians have to be ready to determine themselves on the inspiration of union with Christ, stand as witnesses to God’s goodness and glory, and—as Alistair Begg explains in his sermon “Residing Stone, Holy Individuals”—draw sustenance from the deep effectively of His Phrase:
