Dalmeny and Queensferry Parish Church has been named an Eco-Congregation Scotland Gold Award winner, making it solely the twelfth congregation in Scotland to realize this recognition.

The award celebrates the church’s dedication to environmental stewardship and its energetic function in fostering group sustainability.

Assessors praised the congregation for its excellent collaborative spirit and energetic involvement in environmental initiatives. Highlights of the commendation embrace:

* Group working excellence: The evaluation famous the distinctive stage of cooperation amongst varied teams, with eco-friendly practices deeply embedded into the every day lifetime of the congregation.

* Broad group engagement: The church has been lauded for its robust help and energetic participation in quite a few native environmental teams.

* Integration of religion and ecology: Church leaders have successfully included environmental points into the non secular and sensible lifetime of their group.

* Progressive initiatives: Particular point out was fabricated from the work behind the Warmth Hack initiative and the number of occasions that each elevate consciousness and promote environmental motion.

“Our assessors have been impressed by the teamwork and enthusiasm they demonstrated, their vital engagement with the local people and their help of Christian Help.”

Janet Thomas, Dalmeny and Queensferry Parish Church’s Eco-Congregation lead, commented: “This award is an actual acknowledgment of the exhausting work that has gone in over the previous 5 years or extra from so many individuals inside the congregation.

“We’re delighted to be recognised and stay dedicated to advancing our environmental initiatives whereas inspiring others to hitch us in caring for our shared creation.”

The work will proceed with the church’s subsequent initiative: “The Nice Large Inexperienced Week”.

This begins subsequent weekend with a Make do and Mend Café on 7 June in Queensferry Parish church and culminates on Friday 13 June with the Large Inexperienced Café in Dalmeny Church Corridor.

There are themed occasions each different day of the week too from Tea ‘n’ Tots to ebook swaps: see www.dqpc.org or Fb for particulars.
