It was
the preparation for the Jewish Passover. The chief clergymen and the elders of
the individuals conceived a plan to place Jesus to loss of life with subtlety. They led Him
handcuffed earlier than Pilate, the Roman governor to extract loss of life sentence towards
Him on false fees. Pilate examined the Lord Jesus Christ and located Him
harmless and declared that he discovered no fault in Him. Pilate stated to the Jewish
mob, “Behold your King!” However they cried out, “away with Him, Away with
Him, crucify Him”. Pilate requested them, “Shall I crucify your King?” They
replied, “Now we have no king however Caesar”. Then Pilate delivered Jesus unto them to
be crucified.
The
troopers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on Jesus’ head and a reed in His
proper hand: and so they bowed the knee earlier than Him and mocked Him saying, ‘Hail,
King of the Jews!’ They spat upon Him and smote Him on His head with the reed
and mocked Him. Jesus was subjected to humiliation and torture (Matthew 26:67,
27:26, 28, 29; Mark 14:65). On the command of Pilate, Jesus was flogged even
although He was faultless. Jesus was profusely bleeding by the flogging and torture,
and His visage was marred past recognition.
